Finance Assistant - University Placement

Role Overview

As a Finance Administrator, you will be expected to support all members of the Finance department in all day-to-day activities. This role is vital within the finance team with other members of the team relying on you to complete your task in an accurate and timely manner. It requires someone with good numerical skills and who pays attention to detail.

Being part of a small team will ensure a varied and worthwhile placement where you will be able to learn and apply skills obtained throughout your studies. On-going training is provided to support both your personal and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily cash reconciliations
  • Vouchers redemption
  • Company banking
  • Managing daily post – Opening and distributing daily post
  • Accounts Payable - invoice entry and statement reconciliations
  • Maintain electronic invoice filing system
  • Assisting with accounts Receivable as required
  • Ad hoc finance and administration duties as required

You will be providing support for the busy finance department, so will need to adopt a proactive attitude to the role and be able to use your initiative to solve issues should they arise. The role demands excellent attention to detail, organisation, prioritisation, and teamwork as well as effective communication skills. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in accountancy and Finance and be looking to develop a career in this area.
