Joining Break Points
Who is eligible to earn Break Points?
Anyone aged 18 years or over is eligible to earn points once they have registered online as a Golfbreaks.com member.
How do I join?
All you need to do is go to the member area of the website and register as a Golfbreaks.com member. Once you register as a member, you automatically join the Break Points rewards programme.
What details do I need to fill in to become a Golfbreaks.com member?
Registration is very simple and only takes a minute. We ask you for your basic contact details, such as name, address and email and then a few short questions about your golf holiday preferences, as these help us personalise your golf breaks especially for you.
Is it free of charge to join?
Yes, joining Break Points is completely free of charge.
Earning Points
How much are points worth?
100 points are worth £10.
How do I earn points?
You earn 1 point for every £10 that you spend with us on a golf break.
Can I earn a fraction of a point or carry spend over to the next golf break that I book?
No, only whole numbers of points can be earned and the points are earned on an individual break by break basis.
Can I earn extra points?
Yes, we will be running promotions where if you book certain breaks or book at certain times of the year you will earn bonus points.
Can I earn points when I buy Golfbreaks.com Gift Vouchers?
No, points cannot be earned for buying Golfbreaks.com Gift Vouchers.
Do I earn points if I redeem a Golfbreaks.com Gift Voucher?
Yes, if you redeem a Golfbreaks.com Gift Voucher you would get the similar number of points for redeeming the voucher as you would if you were to pay by cash, credit card or other form of payment.
Can I earn points in conjunction with any other money off or value add offers?
No, if you are eligible for a money off or a value add offer, Break Points cannot be earned in conjunction with that offer. You must choose between one or the other.
Spending Points
What can I spend my points on?
You can spend points at the time of booking a golf break as payment or part payment for the break.
How do I spend my points on a golf break?
You can spend points by simply specifying to the sales agent at the time of booking a golf break how many points you would like to spend. He or she will debit them from your Break Points account and then credit the value of the points to the balance of payment for your golf break.
How many points can I spend at one time on a break?
You can spend any number of points at one time up to the total number of points that you have in your account.
When I book a break, do I automatically spend the points in my account?
No, if you would like to spend your points you must tell the sales agent at the time of booking.
If I am not the organiser of a group but am going on the golf break, can I spend my points?
No, only the group organiser, or person for whom the booking will be booked under once confirmed, will able to spend their points when making the booking.
Your Break Points Account
When do the points get credited to my account?
The points that you earn for a particular booking are automatically credited to your Break Points account on the day that you return from that particular golf break.
How can I check the balance of my Break Points account?
You can view your Break Points account online by logging on to the website with your user name and password and going to your private member area.
Additional Benefits
What are the additional benefits of the Break Points rewards programme?
When you join Break Points you will be offered bonus point promotions on specific offers; exclusive Break Points special offers; and all the benefits of being a Golfbreaks.com member including our newsletter subscription service, auto form filling and your own private online member area, which allows you to make payments and manage your booking online.
Do you send me updates to tell me how many points I have in my account?
Yes, periodically we will send you by email an update of how many points you have in your account to spend, as well as details of our extra points promotions and exclusive Break Points special offers.
General Information
Do points expire?
No, there is no expiry date for points.
Are points transferable?
No, points cannot be exchanged for cash or any other form of payment, nor can they be transferred to anyone else's Break Points account.
Is it possible to collect points with a friend or partner?
You can collect points in your own individual Break Points accounts, but it is not possible for you and a partner or friend to have a joint account.
If the booking is a group booking, who earns the points?
The group organiser, or the customer whose name the booking is confirmed under will earn all the points for the booking.
Can I get points for booking a corporate or society golf day through Golfbreaks.com?
No, currently points cannot be earned on golf day bookings.
When I join Break Points do I get points on previous breaks that I have booked?
When you join Break Points you will earn points on those breaks that you have booked since 1st January 2005 but have not yet travelled on, even if you were not a member when you originally booked the break. However, you will not earn points on those breaks that you have already booked and travelled on before joining Break Points.
If I cancel a break, do I earn points for that particular break?
If you cancel a break, you will not earn points on any payment that is returned to you, nor will you earn any bonus points should you have been eligible for them on that break. You will however earn points on your non refundable deposit and any cancellation fees that you may be required to pay.
