Whilst golfers have long flocked to the Spanish mainland, the Canary Islands have been a more recent destination for travellers seeking out year-round sunshine and sensational courses.

Check out some of our best golf resorts in the Canary Islands, incorporating the hottest spots across Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Fuerteventura.

The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama

One of Europe’s standout resorts, The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama is a beacon of luxury for golfers heading to Tenerife. The destination boasts one of Spain’s finest 18-hole golf courses designed by the legendary Dave Thomas, with a layout that winds through tropical gardens whilst offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

The resort's Michelin-starred restaurants, including the renowned M.B by Martin Berasategui, tantalises the taste buds with exquisite culinary experiences, whilst the rejuvenating spa pampers guests with treatments inspired by the island's natural elements.

Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity

Tucked away in the hills of Gran Canaria, the Salobre Golf Hotel and Serenity is a five-star destination that has fast-become one of our customers’ favourite getaways. The resort boasts two championship golf courses, designed by the acclaimed Ron Kirby which take advantage of the picturesque terrain of the island.

Salobre boasts a fabulous choice of rooms, complete with contemporary designs and stunning views across the estate, in addition to a beautiful Serenity Spa – a haven of relaxation and rejuvenation. The hotel is also home to a huge variety of swimming pools that are carved into the mountainside, creating private pockets around the outdoor spaces at the resort.

Hotel Las Madrigueras

Back to Tenerife and the Hotel Las Madrigueras, one of Europe’s premier golf resorts. The hotel is renowned for its exclusive access to Golf Las Américas, as well its stunning views of both the course and the Atlantic Ocean.

As an adults-only destination, Hotel Las Madrigueras promises a tranquil getaway, combining exceptional golf with world-class amenities. There are 56 rooms in total, with a huge mix of accommodation, designed to suit groups of all sizes.

Melia Hacienda del Conde

Another of our favourite golf resorts in Tenerife, Melia Hacienda del Conde is located in Buenavista del Norte, and provides on-site access to the Buenavista Golf Course, one of Europe’s leading coastal courses. The hotel is another five-star destination, with an impressive lagoon swimming pool, as well as the lavish Yhi Spa – complete with eight separate treatment rooms.

The resort also is ideally placed for those looking to discover some of Tenerife’s most outstanding areas of natural beauty, including the Teno Mountain Range and the Acantilados de Los Gigantes (the Cliffs of the Giants).

Elba Palace & Fuerteventura Golf Club

Our final resort in the Canaries is the superb Elba Palace over on Fuerteventura. The hotel is paired with Fuerteventura Golf Club, creating the perfect stay & play golf package on the island. Again, this hotel is recommended for adults, and features its own wine and brandy tasting experience at The Cellar.

Elba Palace Golf

There’s a true Canarian feel throughout the destination, with immaculate finishings in wood and terracotta, giving an authenticity to its five-star design. The golf course itself was a previous host of the Spanish Open, however, its relatively flat nature, and modest length from the yellow tees, make it the perfect course of a golfing holiday.
