Moortown Golf Club was the venue for the first-ever Ryder Cup on European soil, Moortown Golf Club has a rich history. Since then a number of prestigious tournaments have been held here, including the Tournament Players Championship on the European Tour. This excellent club boasts an excellent course as well as great facilities providing an all-round golfing experience.
Golf Course at Moortown Golf Club
The course at Moortown Golf Club is of the highest quality and ranked among the very best in the region. Fairways are lined with gorse and heather, this Alister MacKenzie course poses a fair challenge to even the most experienced of golfers. Set on Black Moor, it provides a typical moorland feel, with springy turf underfoot and wide fairways. Measuring almost 6,500 yards from the regular tees, it is not a short course, however accuracy will reap more rewards than length on this course. The signature hole of this course is the par 3 10th hole, named Gibraltar, with its steep undulations and well guarded green, this 158 yard gem is ranked amongst the best Par 3’s in the Country.
