Golf holidays closer to home
You don’t have to travel too far to experience exceptional golf holiday destinations. The likes of France, Portugal and Spain are three of our core European locations, and all provide an envious list of Top 100 Courses and towns/cities to visit.
The Algarve offers over 300 days of sunshine per year, with a host of stay & play golf resorts and the lively towns of Vilamoura and Albufeira – perfect for groups looking for a good night out. Similarly, the Costa del Sol, often referred to as Costa del Golf, is a haven for holiday-makers with a list of must-visit destinations, including Marbella, Sotogrande and Malaga, as well as over 70 golf courses along this stretch of beautiful coastline. For a more secluded, island lifestyle, then we’d recommend travelling slightly further to Majorca or the Canary Islands.
Just across the channel, the small, charming town of Le Touquet is possibly our stand-out golf tour location. The town centre is a great base with a nearby beach, an eclectic mix of bars and restaurants, and a selection of the best courses in the country all within close proximity of one another – namely Golf d’Hardelot, Golf du Touquet and Belle Dune. If you’d prefer a more envious climate, then Southern France dovetails golf and gastronomy with sun-kissed courses.
Tropical golf holidays further afield
For pristine beaches, all-inclusive resorts, dramatic coastal courses and water sports, then very few locations in the world come close to Mauritius or the Caribbean. Both destinations are perfect for some winter sun, and with food and drink often included in the cost, you don’t have to worry about spending a penny at the resort.
To follow in the footsteps of the game’s top professionals, then we would highly recommend a trip to either the United Arab Emirates or USA. The UAE hosts three European Tour events a year in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, whilst the US is littered with PGA Tour and Major championship courses. To the East, play all your Florida Swing favourites such as TPC Sawgrass and Bay Hill, and to the West, take on one of the most formidable layout in the world - Pebble Beach.
