Championship Course overview
Set in an area of stunning parkland, the Portal Championship Course offers some unique and challenging holes. Dotted around the course are plenty of water features and hazards that can land golfers in a spot of bother, not to mention the distance. At over 7000 yards, guests will need to be both accurate and long off the tee if they are looking to produce a respectable scorecard at the end of the round.
Signature Holes
The signature hole at on the Championship Course is up for debate, with several strong holes contending. The third hole is a 602-yard par-five that plays from an elevated tee and temps the longer hitters into hitting it in two. However, many of those who try will fail, only to find their ball in the lake guarding the front of the green.
The other two contenders for the signature hole are the par-three 14th, commonly named "The Horn", which plays at 131 yards and is surrounded by water or the par-four 17th, "Waterloo" which is also guarded by water.
