Downfield Golf Club

Located in Dundee, Downfield Golf club is the birthplace of the Scottish Open, held in 1972. This parkland course is considered one of the most beautiful inland courses in Scotland and receives high praise from 1999 Open champion Paul Lawrie. The course was laid out by architect James Braid in 1932; five original holes have been incorporated into the course played today.

With a rich history of hosting prestigious competitions and set in a scenic parkland setting, Downfield is a great addition to any Dundee golfing holiday. A great contrast to the fast-running links courses that reside in this coastal city.

On the course, golfers will be provided with a variety of challenges with water playing a role on 7 holes. Off the championship tees, there are 5 par fives with a memorable 11th hole. Signature Holes

The 17th hole has become a memorable hole for previous golfers. It offers quite the challenge; featuring a dogleg left that requires golfers to perform an accurate tee shot in order to avoid trees and water hazards that appear on either side of the fairway.
