Cathedral Course
at Ramside Hall Hotel & Golf Club
Durham, England
Cathedral Course overview
Built on the rolling countryside, the natural hazards will come into play on the Cathedral Course. If you are not focused on the task in hand you could easily find yourself with an awkward stance and difficult approach shot. The course, which opened in 2014, is a challenge for golfers of all abilities and offers extended views as far as The Angel of the North. Undulating, testing and very impressive – definitely a course which you have to experience!
Signature Holes
Designer Jonathan Gaunt wanted to create Ramside Hall’s answer to the world-famous ‘Amen Corner’ at Augusta from holes 11 to 14. The downhill 12th hole can be considered the signature of ‘Ramside’s Amen Corner’, a downhill 121-yard par-3 which bears a striking resemblance to its famous Georgia counterpart, but instead of Rae’s Creek, its green is guarded by Sherburn Beck.
