Golf Course at Bruntsfield Links Golf Club

The Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society is the fourth oldest golf club in the world dating back to 1761. In 1898 the Society moved to its present location at Barntongate, where it has since delivered excellent golf and service. On 22nd June 2015 Bruntsfield will host the official Open Championship Regional Qualifier a testament to the quality of the course. The grand clubhouse offers excellent dining facilities, famous for Golfers Lunches which are often said to be on a par with those at Muirfield and Prestwick. A collection of ancient featherie golf balls and hickory clubs can be found in the Sandy Watson room and main hall dating back to the origins of the game. Visitors can also enjoy the use of complimentary range balls to warm up and have use of 2 practice putting greens.

Golf Course at Bruntsfield Links Golf Club

Bruntsfield Links was initially designed by Willie Park Jnr and later modified by Dr Alistair Mackenzie in 1921-22 - the architect of Augusta and Cypress Point. Set in stunning parkland, Bruntsfield has spectacular views over the Firth of Forth, Fife and beyond. The course is characterised by well-placed bunkers, manicured and undulating fairways lined with mature trees and large greens angled away from the centre of the fairways, one of Mackenzie’s key design philosophies.
