Quinta South Course
at Quinta do Lago Golf
Faro, Portugal
South Course overview
Often considered the crowning jewel on the Quinta do Lago property, the South Course has hosted the Portuguese Open eight times throughout its history. A flagship on the European Tour, the South Course measures in at 6,500 metres in length and is set among umbrella pines, lakes and wildflowers, overlooking the serene Ria Formosa Natural Park.
This course underwent renovation in 2020/2021, with vast improvements made to the fairways, bunkers, tees, and greens. A few of the holes were also adjusted slightly to enhance the playing experience.
Its championship status shouldn’t deter the amateur golfer, however, with the course presenting a good level of challenge while still remaining accessible and fun for all.
