Balmore Golf Club overview

Located just seven miles from Glasgow with excellent access to the M80 and M8 motorways, Balmore is a perfect stop on a Scottish golf tour. The club offers a welcoming clubhouse where you can relax with a drink and dissect the game.

Built in 1907 by golfing great, Harry Vardon, this parkland layout is considered one of the finest inland courses in Scotland. With plenty of space, an abundance of trees and wildlife, and beautiful fairways and greens that are up to USGA standards, Balmore is a hidden gem in central Scotland.

Golf Course at Balmore Golf Club

Designed by six-time British Open Champ Harry Vardon, this course is renowned for its challenging holes and picturesque views of the surrounding landscape. The par 68 layout is perhaps shorter than average, measuring 5,542 yards in total, but will still provide a challenge for all levels of golfer.

The course is kept in pristine condition year round, with rolling fairways and well-manicured USGA specification greens.

Signature Holes

The signature hole is the 150-yard par-3 16th. The elevated tee offers golfers a stunning view of the Scottish countryside and a look below at the narrow green which slopes towards the tee. It is flanked left and right with bunkers while a meandering burn at the bottom gathers any ball that is short or spins back too far…
