Royal Dornoch Golf Club
Highlands & Inverness, Scotland
Royal Dornoch Golf Club overview
At Royal Dornoch golfers can expect to find two rugged links courses and a wonderfully friendly welcome. Although a private members club, visitor access is warmly welcomed and is available 7 days a week. Golf has been played in Dornoch for centuries and the Championship Course has been in the upper echelons of golf course rankings for years.
Located 50minutes drive north of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, Royal Dornoch is set in quite a remote setting on the edge of the Dornoch Firth, making it tough to get to but golfers with the time to venture this far north will not be disappointed.
The club has an understated clubhouse overlooking the links, where golfers will find a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and a bar. Practice facilities include a putting/chipping area however the driving range is situated away from the course and requires golfers to use/collect their own balls.

Championship Course
Founded in 1886 by Old Tom Morris, the Championship Course at Royal Dornoch is the flagship golf course in the North of Scotland and is one of the world’s greatest links, regularly listed near the top end of worldwide golf course rankings. The Dornoch Firth and its beautiful white beaches are accompanied by a narrow strip of dune land rising on two levels, which provide just enough room for parallel fairways and a spectacular course that is one of the most natural you will find anywhere.
Struie Course
An easier test than its more renowned counterpart but just as beautiful, the Struie Course is a fun test of golf set in the beautiful home of golf. The par-69 course plays a short 5438 yards but with quick greens and fast undulating fairways, the course requires tactical positioning and good tee shots to ensure a good round.
