Barony Course

Hilton Head, USA
The Barony Course overview
Opened in the early 1960s, the Barony Course is the oldest course at Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club and is one of the oldest on Hilton Head Island.
Although the course is relatively short by modern standards at just over 6650 yards, accuracy is more important here than length. The fairways are wide and generous, giving golfers the confidence to utilize driver off the tee. However, it is the approach shots that will be the trickiest. Although the greens are also generous in size, they are well-guarded by thick rough and deep bunkers.
Therefore, a deft touch with mid to short irons is paramount. Additionally, water hazards come into play on several holes, adding to the challenge. There are four tee boxes available with yardages ranging from 6654 yards to 5183 yards, ensuring golfers of all handicap levels can enjoy a round at the Barony Course.
