Golf Courses

There are a variety of courses to choose from in the surrounding area of Huelva. The Isla Canela Golf Club is located in the centre of Costa De La Luz and boasts 18-holes. Being a 10-minute drive away, it is easily accessible and provides a well-rounded and challenging course with 10 holes featuring water.

The Islantilla Golf Resort is a 40-minute drive away offering a 27-hole parkland course designed by Enrique Canales and Luis Recasens. Being 800m from the beach, the resort features amazing sea views and a train shuttle to the beach to soak up some sun after a day on the course.

Location

Placed on the coast of Isla Canela, the Melia Atlántico is in a prime location for golfing and non-golfing activities alike. Transfer time from Faro airport is around 90 minutes, with private transfer options available at an additional cost. Being one of the two main beach resorts in Ayamonte, there are many local bars and restaurants sprinkled across the coast. For an excursion to the port city of Huelva, it can be reached in just under an hour.

The Municipal Park of Prudencio Navarro is a free entry animal park placed within the botanical garden next to the Plaza of Spain. The park has large green spaces and includes a range of species including lions, monkeys, bears and wild birds making a prime family attraction. During the summer months, the streets of Paseo de la Ribera are filled with many stalls selling locally-sourced goods such as fruit and vegetables, ornaments and handmade jewellery.

The Punta del Moral marina is a 5-minute walk away and hosts sophisticated nightlife and local seafood delicacies.

For action-packed activities, the 7km long Isla Canela beach is a hotspot for all kinds of water sports such as surfing, snorkelling and windsurfing.
