The Lodge at Prince's Golf Club
Kent, England
Princes Golf Club & The Lodge at Prince's overview
Located in the heart of the idyllic Sandwich Bay, The Lodge at Prince’s offers four excellent types of accommodation to match the quality of onsite golf available. The Apartments at The Lodge opened in July 2011, providing beautiful accommodation with unrivalled views across the golf courses of Prince’s and Royal St George’s.
Golf Courses
Prince's Golf Club has 27 holes of championship golf in the form of the Himalayas, the Dunes and the Shore. These three loops of nine offer a spectacular links golfing experience complemented by beautiful views across the Kent countryside.
Accommodation
Within the apartments, guests are provided with two en-suite bedrooms, a well-appointed lounge area with TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, and coffee-making facilities.
The Lodge, formerly the Old Clubhouse, opened in 2012 and provides further accommodation, together with other facilities including a restaurant, snooker room, bar and terrace – which guests can make full use of. For something a bit more lavish and luxurious, why not try either the Links or Bay Suites, which offer all of the standard amenities and more.
Restaurant & Bars
There are multiple dining options available at Prince’s. In The Lodge is 2AA Rosette Star Brasserie on the Bay, where the chefs focus on high-quality seasonal and local Kentish produce, and the Lodge Lounge & Terrace, which offers a very comfortable bar environment.
On the second floor of the clubhouse is the Prince’s Suite, which provides stunning panoramic views over the course and across Sandwich Bay, and also the Spike Bar for quick bites and drinks pre and post-round.
Spa & Leisure
Guests may request use of the gym and sauna/steam facilities at the nearby Baypoint Sports Club.
Location
Located on the southeast tip of England overlooking Sandwich Bay, Prince's Golf Club backs onto Royal St George's Golf Club, with Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club just a short drive away.
Nearby
History buffs will be pleased with the location, with plenty of historical sites in the area to visit. Both Deal and Dover Castle are fairly close, or if you fancy visiting the beautiful city of Canterbury, Canterbury Cathedral is a must.
Other stopovers include the historical market town of Faversham, home to Britain’s oldest brewery (Shepherd Neame), the seaside town of Broadstairs, just 25 minutes away, and the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery which is located on Margate seafront.
Did You Know
Gene Sarazen won his first and only Open Championship at Prince's in 1932. He captured 37 tour victories in total over his career, including seven majors and was the first ‘Grand Slam’ winner.
Prince's Golf Course
A course that has stood the test of time, Prince's Golf Course offers players a fun challenge with each of the three loops of nine offering their own unique obstacles. Being the most difficult hole, the 1st hole on the Dunes golf course is one to look out for, with the southwesterly breeze creating an obstacle. Boasting fantastic views over the golf course, the clubhouse offers a place for players to wind down and sip on a refreshing drink or have a bite to eat.
