Overview
Killarney Golf & Fishing Club offers two spectacular championship courses, each of which are set within the spectacular shores of Lough Leane. The club opened in 1893 and is steeped in history, widely known as one of the most historic golf clubs in Ireland. The surrounding 25,000 acres of the Killarney National Park provide beautiful views and spectacular nature throughout the round. The landscape includes mountains, moorlands, woodland, waterways and is habitat to Ireland’s native red deer. Both the Killeen and Mahony’s Point Courses provide a truly enjoyable and challenging round of golf. Killeen has played host to the Irish Open on four occasions, proving the class and challenge that the course offers, there is water in play on almost every hole adding to the test even further. Both courses are kept in immaculate condition and are a true joy to play, with a choice of tees to play from on both courses, all abilities can experience an enjoyable round.

Killeen Course
The Killeen Course at Killarney is relatively new and was only opened for play in 1972. Killeen has held some major events, notably the Irish Open Championship in 1991 and 1992, and the Irish Open in 2010 and 2011. The course was originally designed by Eddie Hackett and Billy O’Sullivan and was updated by David Jones in 1991 ahead of the Irish Open Championship. Donald Steel was commissioned to update the course in 2006 to add length, newly designed greens, and numerous water hazards.
Mahony's Point Course
The course was designed by no less than Sir Guy Campbell – best known for his work at Rye, West Sussex and Machrihanish – in the late 1930s. The course was eventually split in the 1970s and extended in two directions to help create the new Killeen course but as the club, itself says “many feared a great course would be lost, but instead two fine modern courses were born”.
