Originally designed by Tom Morris, Wallasey is a worthy test of golf, which is due in part to the prevailing North Westerly winds and variety of holes made all the more interesting by the natural undulations of the terrain.

In 1914, Dr Frank Stableford became a member and on the 2nd tee stands a plaque erected to commemorate the place where he devised the point scoring system that bears his name.
