Mijas, Spain
Santana Golf Club overview
Situated at the heart of the Mijas Golf Valley is Santana Golf Club, halfway between Fuengirola, Marbella and La Cala, and just 20 kilometers from the Málaga international airport, allowing easy access for traveling golfers. In spite of its previous use, the Avocado Tree is not the only tree present here, as many other endemic species like eucalyptus, orange and lemon trees among others feature throughout the property.
The layout is surrounded by beautiful rivers, and very close to the Mediterranean Sea providing breathtaking views of the mountains. The club also provides numerous fantastic facilities at the Club House including a golf shop, restaurant and putting areas.
Golf Course at Santana Golf Club
The course at Santana Golf Club is a majestic piece of design that encapsulates the site's original owner, an avocado farm. There is plenty of room off the tee as the fairways are wide and lead up to expansive greens. Two rivers surround the golf course, with a creek passing through to provide a tranquil and picturesque setting. Designed by Cabell B. Robinson it has quickly become one of the top courses of the Costa del Sol.
The presence of avocado and orange trees gives this young golf course maturity beyond its years. Each hole provides a different challenge to the next making for an entertaining yet challenging round of golf every time.
Signature Hole
A favourite hole for many is the par 5, 4th called 'the Acueduct' which measures at a hearty 556 metres. With bunkers placed across the fairway, you might think twice about your first shot and what you hit.
