Opened in 2006, the newly built five-star Ona Mar Menor Golf & Spa is a fantastic golf resort with all the modern amenities that guests would expect to have and more. It features 63 rooms as well as several themed restaurants and even an Irish Pub – perfect for an after-round drink.

Golf Courses

Onsite at Ona Mar Menor Golf & Spa is the Mar Menor Golf Course – a beautiful par-72, 18-hole golf course, and one of six courses to form the previously known Nicklaus Golf Trail. In addition to the resort's Mar Menor course, you can also play at Saurines Golf, La Torre, El Valle, Hacienda Riquelme and Jack's masterpiece, Alhama Signature Golf.

The hotel features 63 guest rooms, separated into seven suites, 24 single rooms and 32 double rooms. The standard features in each room include satellite TV, free Wi-Fi and a private en-suite bathroom.

Restaurant & Bars

The hotel has three different restaurants – Nomad, La Fontana Di Pietra and Mizu. Nomad is open all year round and is InterContinental’s main restaurant. Here guests will come to eat the delicious morning buffet, and in the evenings visitors can indulge in the rich Mediterranean menu. La Fontana Di Pietra offers a traditional menu, serving a great variety of delicious pasta and slow oven-cooked pizza. The final restaurant, Mizu, combines different flavours to serve Japanese cuisine in the oriental spa.

The Clover Irish Golf Tavern shows live major sporting events in an energetic pub setting. The bar menu includes standard burgers, sandwiches and salads, with some of the finest Ales, draught lagers and bottled international beers. Situated by the first tee box with an open terrace, the Golf Club House Bar is perfect for a drink either before or after an exciting game of golf.

Spa & Leisure

In addition to Mar Menor Resort's many other amenities, they also have a full service spa. The spa’s knowledgeable therapists look to personalise the experience for each individual guest to give them something to remember. Signature packages at the spa include – the Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Californian Massage and the Hot Stones treatment. The spa’s large facilities also include a 1000 square metre fitness studio equipped with all the latest technology and an indoor swimming pool.

Nearby

Aside from enjoying the Mar Menor Golf Course and luxuries of the hotel, the local area produces some excellent entertainment for visitors to appreciate. The Aquopolis Water Park, Terra Natura Wildlife Park and Rojales Aqua Park are all within 45 minutes of the resort. There are also plenty of beaches in and around Mar Menor, Lo Pagan is particularly attractive as visitors can cover themselves in mud from the old salt flats to make themselves feel 10 years younger. Mar de Cristal is a long sandy beach, extremely suitable for water sports.
