The Montgomerie Golf Course overview
Featuring some dramatic tee shots over valleys and breathtaking downhill approaches, course designer Colin Montgomerie has called on all his Ryder Cup experience to create many exciting tests of strategy.
He has also drawn on his roots in Scottish links golf to create a traditional feel, enhanced by deep pot bunkers and greenside swales, all complemented by some stunning views over the Usk Valley and Severn Estuary.
We recommend you hire a buggy as the course features some steep elevation changes. The Greenside Grill provides some tempting options to recharge at the halfway point of your round.
Signature Hole
Golfers playing on The Montgomerie golf course are treated to some spectacular challenges, with the most memorable hole being the par-five 12th. Drive to the top of a rise and then see the fairway plummet downhill like an alpine ski piste through a chute of pine trees.
The amazing view beyond the green to Wentwood Forest and the Usk Valley gets even more exhilarating as the treeline ends to reveal panoramic vistas of the lakes of the Twenty Ten Course below.
