The Richmond Golf Club
South East England, England
The Richmond Golf Club overview
Originally laid out in 1891 by prolific and esteemed course architect Tom Dunn, The Richmond Golf Club is an attractive parkland bordering Richmond Park and Ham Common.
Recently redesigned by the firm of golf architects founded by five times Open champion, Peter Thomson (2012 - Golf Inc World Renovation of the Year award winner), the course presents a stiff challenge to golfers of all abilities. Narrow tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers put a premium on accuracy. As do the six par 3 holes which average 182 yards in length.
Did You Know?
Taking pride of place at the Club is the magnificent early-Georgian mansion – not many clubs can boast a Clubhouse so steeped in history and opulent splendour. Dating from 1725, the building is regarded as one of the finest examples of English Palladian architecture. A truly spectacular setting to enjoy a round of golf!
