Hindhead Golf Club overview
Founded in 1904 Hindhead Golf Club boasts a rich history, with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle among the original founders. Now over 100 years old it was made the Open Championship Regional Qualifying venue for 2000-05. With a recently refurbished Clubhouse, it has not lost any of its tradition with a Snooker room that is perfect to carry on the competition once the round is complete.
Golf Course at Hindhead Golf Club
This beautiful heathland layout at Hindhead Golf Club has stood the test of time and is one of the best courses around London, with 5 sets of tees creating various lengths of the course providing a fair test of golf for all abilities. In traditional style, the first holes lead golfers away from the clubhouse and the 18th brings you right back with the green in front of the Clubhouse making it a marvellous spectator finish. With holes 2 -9 sweeping through two valleys you will have to play with precision to score well. The 6th is the signature hole, as a short par-3 down the hill with a sloping green, a par is easier said than done.
Being able to work the ball off the tee is key at Hindhead to leave yourself with the easiest approach shots in to the greens, by the end of the round you’ll be wondering why Hindhead is not higher up the rankings.
