Old Course, Vilamoura is perhaps the most renowned golf course in the Algarve. The Frank Pennink-designed Old Course provides a great test for any golfer and is a must if you are considering a golf holiday in Vilamoura. The course offers a variety of modern practice facilities so you can polish your game before heading off as well as a well-stocked pro shop.
The central location makes it easy to reach Vilamoura marina and Faro Airport. The fantastic scenery that the par-73 has to offer is what makes the Old Course so special, it runs through impressive pine trees which are careful not to disturb the natural layout of the land.
Signature Holes
The holes at Old Course, Vilamoura are laid out through a pine forest which is not necessarily for the longer hitters but if you keep your ball in play, you will score well here. The course is very easy on the eye and with 18 fantastic holes, however, the real highlight has to be the tough par-4 8th hole. Its SI 1 rating is no lie and it requires a precise, yet long drive followed up by an equally long and precise approach shot to a green which can be particularly challenging. Three precise shots are often the play on this hole as you will do well to make par.
