Designed by the legendary Gary Player, the 18-hole signature golf course at Thracian Cliffs is a masterpiece that seamlessly integrates with the rugged coastal terrain. The course perhaps makes more use of the ocean than any other, with the water viewable from all 18-holes, something rarely found at even the most iconic of waterfront properties.

The resort itself is home to more than 2km of private beaches, as well as a decadent Moroccan spa, and half a dozen excellent eateries. Luxury suites create the perfect feeling of a home away from home, with the complex easily reached from the UK, being just 40 minutes from the well-connected Varna airport.

Another course designed by another Masters champion! This time it’s the turn of Welshman Ian Woosnam who has laid out the fabulous design at the Lighthouse Golf & Spa Resort. The layout takes full advantage of the area’s breathtaking sea views and is regularly complemented by the refreshing coastal breeze.

Situated on the outskirts of Balchik, the Lighthouse Golf Resort is another stunning five-star location that seamlessly merges the impressive golf course with an array of top-notch amenities. The Lighthouse hotel encompasses 180 rooms with a variety of rooms, including twins, ideal for golfing groups.

There’s a huge pool at the centre of the resort which is the ideal place to kick back after a morning on the course. This is complimented by a great selection of bars, helping to quench your thirst on the warm afternoons that are the norm in the area from April-September.

BlackSeaRama is our final addition on this best golf resort in Bulgaria list. Like Thracian Cliffs, the 18-hole Championship course was designed by Gary Player and makes great use of the natural mounding that can be found atop the cliffs in Balchik. The resort centres around the 45 villas, with a mixture of detached and semi-detached properties – ideal for larger groups that are visiting together.

The BlackSeaRama resort offers a variety of additional activities, including an on-site gourmet restaurant serving international dishes. The restaurant boasts an extensive wine selection and offers the option of terrace seating, the perfect place to kick back after your round.
