Praia D'El Rey Resort

Perhaps the most well-known Portuguese resort outside of the Algarve, Praia d’el Rey Resort is blessed with two brilliant golf courses, as well as 179 deluxe rooms in the five-star Marriott hotel, a selection of beautiful apartments, a choice of restaurants, and a gorgeous backdrop set against the Atlantic Ocean.

Praia d’el Rey Golf & Country Club is a superb layout with an excellent contrast of a front nine that winds through the forest, before the routing breaks through to the coastal dunes on the return home. It’s one of the best courses in Europe, and an absolute treat for golfers staying on-site.

Praia D'El Rey Resort

Unbelievably, despite the worldwide notoriety of Praia d’el Rey Golf & Country Club, the destination’s other course might be even better! West Cliffs Golf Club is regarded as one of the best new designs in Europe - a true links gem in immaculate condition throughout the year. Despite only opening in 2017, it’s attracting golfers from around the globe, and keeps getting better and better with every season that goes by.

Aroeira Lisbon Hotel

Another new addition to the golfing landscape and an easy pick for our best Lisbon golf resorts list, the Aroeira Lisbon Hotel is bathed in tranquillity, set against the ocean on the Setubal Peninsula. The resort offers a more intimate stay, with just 68 rooms, however, there’s plenty going on to fill your time away from the courses; notably, the exclusive beach club – with access included for all hotel guests too.

The Oitavos & Oitavos Dunes

The Oitavos is a five-star resort, offering world-class golf just half-an-hour from Lisbon. There’s a choice of bars and restaurants (including a Japanese show cooking bar!), as well as sublime gastronomic options. Most notably the Chef’s Table expertly showcases some of Portugal’s finest ingredients, all prepared by Head Chef Cyrill Devilliers.

The Oitavos

Despite these incredible off-course attractions, the real star at Oitavos is the Oitvos Dunes Golf Course. Ranked as one of the best links courses in Europe, hugging the continent’s western coastline, Oitavas Dunes blends seamlessly into the landscape and presents a superb out-and-back routing which keeps golfers enthralled throughout.

Penha Longa Resort

Set within the National Park at the Sintra Mountains, Penha Longa Resort oozes quality and serenity in abundance, comfortably earning its five-star status. There are six separate restaurants on-site, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a fabulous spa – as well as easy access to the peaceful beaches at Cascais and Estoril. All told, it’s a wonderful resort with some of the highest reviews in our entire portfolio. And that’s all before we’ve talked about the golf courses!

Penha Longa Resort

There’s three to choose from at Penha Longa, with the Robert Trent Jones-designed Championship Courses supported by the Atlantic North and South designs. The variety between these layouts means that golfers can spend a week here, and play a choice of routings, with a new experience each time they step on the first tee. It’s a quality destination that many of our customers return to year after year.

Quinta da Marinha

Another fabulous five-star choice in the Cascais region to the west of Lisbon. Quinta da Marinha is a more modern offering than some in the area, with a mix of luxury rooms and standalone villas. It’s ideally placed for exploration into the wider landscape, with the city of Lisbon nearby, as well as several local delights including St George’s Castle, the Oceanarium, Belem Tower, and the Monastery at St Jerome.

Onyria Quinta da Marinha Hotel

In terms of the golf, guests are spoiled with the Quinta da Marinha Golf Course designed by Robert Trent Jones just moments from the hotel. Golfers can also take advantage of Quinta da Marinha’s proximity to other layouts nearby, such as Estoril and the aforementioned Oitavos Dunes.

Bom Sucesso

Those looking for a relatively self-sufficient break should check out the excellent five-star townhouses at Bom Sucesso. The resort offers a true ‘home-away-from-home’ feel, with a series of bars and restaurants available too for groups who don’t want to spend time in the kitchen after their golf!

Bom Sucesso

The on-site Bom Sucesso course was designed by Donald Steel and is more tree-lined than many others in the region. Speaking of which, a stay at Bom Sucesso also allows access to the nearby Royal Obidos Golf Course and Praia D'El Rey Golf Course – with a shuttle service running at peak times during the season.

Montado Hotel & Golf Resort

Situated within the famous wine region of Palmela, the four-star hotel at Montado was designed by legendary architect Tomás Tavira. With everything you need for a great Portuguese golf holiday right there on-site, you can kick back and enjoy yourself without ever needing to stray too far from your room!

Montado Hotel & Golf Resort

The Abaixo restaurant offers fabulous food throughout your stay, but those who do want to venture further afield can be in the centre of Lisbon in 30 minutes or less. The course at Montado features a spectacular island green on the 18th hole, and despite its lack of name-recognition compared to some of its neighbours, is thought of as one of the best up-and-coming courses in the country.

Palacio Estoril (and Estoril GC)

A five-star property that also has major film credentials as a destination in the 1968 James Bond classic ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’, Palacio Estoril is one of our favourite resorts in Europe. The hotel has always maintained a standard of excellence and has undergone many renovations throughout the years to ensure it’s always up to date with the latest trends and offerings.

Palacio Estoril Hotel & Golf

In addition to the Banyan Tree Spa, there’s the Grill Four Seasons on the property – giving you every excuse to stay within the resort throughout your trip. The hotel enjoys access to the Estoril Golf Club, one of the oldest and most established in Portugal; whilst guests also can take advantage of the hotel’s proximity to the likes of Oitavos Golf, Penha Longa, Quinta da Marinha, Belas, and the two golf courses at Aroeira.

Golf Do Estoril

Royal Obidos

The Royal Óbidos Spa & Golf Resort is an intimate experience, with fewer rooms than many of our properties in the area. The result is a golf trip that can feel packed with luxurious escapism, as the five-star amenities make it a truly wondrous place to unwind.

Royal Óbidos Spa & Golf Resort

There’s a steak and sushi restaurant, as well as the Mandalay Spa. Many of the 36 rooms overlook the Royal Obidos Golf Course, designed by Seve Ballesteros. Blessed with a modern clubhouse, and plenty of changes in direction to keep you on your toes in the coastal breezes, it’s an ideal on-resort layout – with the hotel also benefitting from easy access to many others in the area too.
