Where to stay

If all-inclusive is your thing then stay at the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Resort. Not only is it an excellent 5* property with a comprehensive all-inclusive offering, but it will also grant you access to Quivira Golf Course.

If you want your all-inclusive property to be a bit livelier in the evenings then look no further than the 5* Grand Fiesta Americana. It boasts 9 restaurants and 5 swimming pools and has recently built a nightclub. This welcomes visitors as well as guests to come and use it, creating one of the main night time hotspots in San Lucas.

For those who prefer room-only accommodation to allow for dining in different locations, then the Hilton Los Cabos fits the bill nicely, then the Hilton Los Cabos fits the bill nicely. Situated half-way between San Lucas and San Jose, guests have a number of options to explore as both towns are in close proximity. This is not your stereotypical Hilton hotel and has a great feel to the place, as well as a stunning beach location. It's also right on the doorstep of Cabo Real Golf Club, and Cabo del Sol Golf Club is just 10 minutes away.

Where to play

It may sound farfetched but there really is no weak golf course in Los Cabos. However, there a handful of courses that will simply blow you away, golf courses that are a testament to quality design and architecture whilst simultaneously making use of the spectacular setting on the southern tip of Baja California. To name but a few…

Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol Golf Club:

Surely one of Jack Nicklaus’ greatest achievements. This course is certainly one of the jewels in the crown that is Los Cabos. A must-play for any avid golfer, this course winds its way through the desert scrub, complimented by some stunning ocean side holes that literally have you playing over the beach. A feature perfectly illustrated by the back-to-back par 3’s (holes 7 & 8) on the front 9, and just when you think it cannot get any more impressive, the back 9, takes the enjoyment factor up another level.

Added to all this is the fact they have another 18-hole course onsite (The Desert Course) and you have a world-class 36-hole golf facility in Los Cabos. Cab del Sol Golf Club is a perfect complex to spend the day sampling the contrasting courses.

Quivira Golf Course

Whilst this course can only be accessed by being a resident at one of the Pueblo Resorts it nevertheless is a must-play and is arguably the finest course in the region. Another Nicklaus masterpiece, this course is truly spectacular and is reminiscent of the California greats Pebble Beach and Cypress Point. The clifftop holes are the most memorable with jaw-dropping coastal views but the rest of the course is still a sight to behold with not a single weak hole. This course alone confirms Los Cabos as a serious golf destination.

Other honourable mentions must go to Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club and Cabo Real which again have a perfect blend of desert and Oceanside golf.

Nightlife

Away from the golf courses, pools and relaxing on the beach, there are many other activities to indulge in during your vacation. The more popular options include Dune buggy riding, fishing and snorkelling. The latter is done a little further north (approx. 1 ½ hrs north of Los Cabos) but is regarded as one of the best snorkelling spots in the world.

Local Tips

Rent a car! Whilst private transportation can be arranged with a driver it is very straightforward to drive in the Los Cabos area with the Highway 1 linking the two towns of San Jose and San Lucas. It is a much more cost-effective transportation option and the roads are quiet and easy to navigate.
