Westin La Quinta

The five-star Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa is one of the finest golfing properties in Spain, with 27-holes of excellent golf to be enjoyed. The first-class accommodation boasts 170 rooms, all with their own private terrace. Plus, with a choice of two bars and three restaurants on-site, there’s little reason to leave the property – although with Puerto Banus just 10 minutes away, the option is there for those keen to venture out for an evening!

On the course, the three loops of nine are equally challenging, having been designed by former Ryder Cup star, Manuel Piñero, with a focus on blending seamlessly into the landscape. All in all, The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa should be near the top of your list when looking at holidays to the Costa del Sol.

SO/ Sotogrande

Another superb five-star option on the sunshine coast is the SO/ Sotogrande. The hotel has a mix of rooms and suites, with a focus on creating an atmosphere that blends traditional Spanish design with modern flair.

There’s a wide choice of bars and restaurants on-site, including a newly opened fine dining experience to really make your stay unforgettable. Like several of the other resorts above, SO/ Sotogrande benefits from 27-holes on the property at the Almenara Golf Club, allowing guests to play a mix of layouts throughout their stay to keep things interesting.

The three loops are aptly named, with Los Pinos (Pines) winding through narrow trees, and Los Lagos (Lakes) working its way around numerous water hazards. The final course, Los Alcornoques (Corn Oaks), features some of the more picturesque holes at Almenara and is one to take a few holiday snaps on the way around!

Vista Real Apartments at Alcaidesa

The Links Course is much-lauded and thought of as one of very few true links facilities in Southern Europe, whilst the Heathland Course offers an equally enjoyable test. There’s also plenty of practice facilities too, making this the perfect place to work on your game whilst enjoying some time in the sunshine. Plus, those wanting a more peaceful trip will be pleased to know the resort also has an adults-only swimming pool!
