  • Local currency is Vietnamese Dong (VDN) but US Dollars (USD) are also accepted.

Where to go

Vietnam stretches over 1,000 miles from North to South, so the weather can vary from region to region. If you’re planning to cover the entire country, then we would recommend travelling between November – May.

The Golden Bridge

North Vietnam

North Vietnam has a distinct winter (dry) and summer season (wet). Winter is from November to April where temperatures average between 17-24°C and rainfall is low.

Summer is from May to October where it tends to be hot and humid. It is also the time when the region experiencing the highest amount of rainfall.

Average temperatures range between 28-30°C, with rainfall averaging 150-200mm per month. The wettest months in the region are June to August.

Central Vietnam

Central Vietnam tends to be hot and dry between late December and August, with temperatures ranging from an average of 22°C in December to 32°C in August. September to November brings significant amounts of rainfall to the region, occasionally in the form of typhoons.

South Vietnam

The temperatures in South Vietnam tend to remain constant year-round, averaging between 26 - 30°C, however there is a distinct wet and dry season. The dry season tends to run from mid-November to mid-May. The wet season runs from mid-May until early November with the June through to August receiving the highest amounts of rainfall.
