More about The Arnold Palmer Invitational
The Arnold Palmer Invitational began in 1979 and was originally known as the Bay Hill Citrus Classic. The tournament was founded after Arnold Palmer, one of golf’s greatest legends, took ownership of the Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Florida, in 1974. Palmer’s vision was to create a premier PGA TOUR event that would challenge the world’s best golfers while celebrating the sport’s traditions.
Before becoming an official PGA TOUR stop, Bay Hill hosted the Florida Citrus Open from 1966 to 1978, but Palmer’s involvement helped elevate the tournament’s prestige. In 2007, the event was officially renamed the Arnold Palmer Invitational to honor his legacy. Over the years, the tournament has grown into one of the most prestigious stops on the PGA TOUR, attracting top-ranked players and featuring legendary performances, including Tiger Woods’ record eight victories. Today, the event remains a tribute to Palmer’s lasting impact on golf, combining elite competition with the values he championed.

Celebration Golf Club - Located just outside Kissimmee, Celebration Golf Club blends charm and tradition with its “Old Time” atmosphere, featuring a windmill and vintage cars on the lawn. The course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jr., is a par-72, 7,028-yard Florida-style layout that caters to all skill levels with four tee boxes. Golfers can test their skills on spacious fairways and challenging water hazards, while the driving range offers a unique twist with island greens.
Watson's Independence Course - Designed by Tom Watson, the Independence is one of Orlando's best, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience. Stretching over 7,250 yards, it demands both distance off the tee and precise approach shots, with testing greens that emphasise the importance of a strong short game. For those staying at Reunion Resort, a round on The Independence is a must-play, showcasing Watson’s strategic design and the course’s exceptional conditions.
Disney's The Magnolia Course - Named for the 1,500 magnolia trees that line its fairways, The Magnolia is Disney’s most iconic golf course. This 7,500-yard layout offers a scenic journey through lush woodlands, with five tee options to accommodate all skill levels.
