Oxmoor Valley Golf Club overview
Oxmoor Valley is situated 11 miles south of Birmingham, Alabama and just minutes from the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort. With 54-holes onsite (two 18-hole championship courses and an 18-hole short course) it is packed with golf and ideally located to create a stay-&-play package that also includes Ross Bridge Golf Club.
A warm southern welcome awaits at the clubhouse, dining is available throughout the day, there is a well-stocked golf shop, and both short and long-game practice facilities are available prior to your tee time.
Golf Course Overview
The Ridge and Valley courses offer 36-holes of championship golf, while the Short Course is a fantastic selection of 18 par-3s. Each layout has been carved into the peaks and valleys that make up the Appalachian Mountains. Huge elevation changes, scenic woodlands, and meandering creeks are all part of the experience.
The Valley Course was completely renovated in 2021, including the introduction of TifEagle greens. It is characterized by rolling fairways and several lakes as you play through the slender valley.
The Ridge Course encounters more elevation change and dense woodlands, with beautiful scenery throughout – it is one of the most photographed courses on the Robert Trent Jones Trail.
Signature Holes
The Ridge course is known to have some of the best par-5s in the state, and the 3rd hole which plays 539 yards from the tips is considered by many to be its signature. An elevated tee shot must be kept down the right to make the second much easier as there’s water to contend with when laying up. The 3rd is played uphill to a green with an outcropping of rock.
The par-4 14th is another favorite, a dogleg to the left that hugs a 40-foot hill. From the tee it tempts you to cut the corner, but a poor tee-shot will end in a blocked-out approach to the green, or at best an obscured line of sight. The green sits at the highest point of the hole, no bunkers are present as the lie of the land offers plenty of natural protection.
