Oak Point Course overview
Designed by Clyde Johnston in 1989, Oak Point did not officially join Kiawah Island Golf Resort until 2001. This par-72 resort-style course plays 6700 yards from the back tees and offers guests 5 tee boxes to play from. Located on the Kiawah River and Haulover Creek, Oak Point weaves players through natural marshlands and woodlands. Wide fairways give way to accessible greens making Oak Point playable to any level golfer.
Although Oak Point is thought of as the easiest course at Kiawah Island, players will need to contend with clever water hazards and visually imposing tee shots. Oak Point is another fine option when staying and playing at Kiawah Island.
Signature hole
The signature hole on the Oak Point Golf Course is the par-4 18th. Playing just over 400 yards from the tournament tees, this challenging hole offers stunning views of the Haulover Creek and Kiawah River. With the hazard running along the entire right side of the hole, players will need to position themselves in the left portion of the fairway. From here, you play to a small green that is protected by bunkers and marsh. An excellent finishing hole for all to enjoy.
