Deerpark Course
at Fota Island Resort
Cork, Ireland
Deerpark Course overview
The Deerpark Course at Fota Island Resort is an interesting parkland layout, framed by mature woodland, offering wonderful views across to Cork Harbor. Designed originally in 1993 by Peter McEvoy and former Ryder Cup player Christy O’Connor, the course was later remodelled at the turn of the century in readiness for its European Tour debut in 2001.
Now a 7043-yard, par-71, it is a real test of golf for players of all abilities. Features of the Deerpark Course are its receptive greens and strategic bunkering as well as a good amount of water hazards, so make sure you bring plenty of balls!
Did You Know?
Colin Montgomerie won the first Irish Open here in 2001. Also, the extra 9 holes were added in 2007, now giving players multiple 18-hole combinations to play.
