Muirfield, a permanent fixture on The Open rota, is one of the most famous and oldest golf clubs in the world. Scotland's most easily accessible golfing region

Edinburgh airport provides ideal international access for golf travelers to this spectacular region. Very rarely is such a high concentration of championship links courses so close to a major city, making daily commutes very possible if the allure of Scotland's capital is too great.

A short drive east of Edinburgh, and in the heart of this stunning coastline, are the two golfing towns of Gullane and North Berwick. Both are quaint and historic seaside towns with great local pubs, restaurants and accommodation options. Aberlady is a smaller village nearby with the Ducks Inn being popular with golfers.

Our experts say...

With it's close proximity to Edinburgh and concentration of quality championship links courses, East Lothian is a wonderful golf destination. I guess that's why they call it Scotland's Golf Coast.
