Gullane No.1 Course overview
Gullane No.1 is an Open Championship Final Qualifying Course and has hosted the European Tour’s Scottish Open. It has also been referenced as one of the top 9 most picturesque golf spots in the world by PGA.com Facebook followers.
Situated on Scotland’s Golf Coast just 20 miles east of Edinburgh overlooking the Firth of Forth, Gullane No.1 is carved into ancient links turf with pot bunkers, wispy grasses and smooth-running greens. A par-71 and just under 6900 yards from the tips, don’t be misled into thinking this is a quirky old-fashioned course, as the requirement for varied uphill and downhill shot-making will definitely test your skills.
Signature Holes
The spectacular 7th hole, called Queen’s Head, is a relatively short par-4 at 398 yards off the tips. Unlike anything else in golf, the tee box sits on top of Gullane Hill with a 360-degree panoramic that features some of the best golf courses in the world, along with the rugged East Lothian coastline and Bass Rock in the distance.
