The Sea Pines Resort overview

The Sea Pines Resort is located on the southern portion of Hilton Head and was the first resort on the island, many who visit still consider it to be the best. For accommodation, guests can choose between The Inn (a 5-star boutique hotel) or the self-catering villas that come in a range of sizes.

With three courses onsite, the most famous being Harbour Town Golf Links (an annual stop on the PGA TOUR’s schedule), plus an array of activities to enjoy away from the course and miles of white-sand beach to explore, Sea Pines Resort is the perfect choice for a truly memorable golf vacation.

Golf Courses

Sea Pines Resort is home to three of the best courses on Hilton Head. The Pete Dye-designed Harbour Town Golf Links is undoubtedly the most renowned and has been a PGA TOUR stop since 1969, the 18th hole is famous around the world with the red and white hooped lighthouse as the back-drop to the green.

Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love III (formerly the Ocean Course) and Heron Point the second Pete Dye design at the property makes the resort a truly excellent golfing experience.

Accommodation

There is great flexibility when it comes to the accommodation at Sea Pines. You can choose either The Inn at Harbour Town or opt for one of the many spacious villas located throughout the resort. The Inn is a 5-star boutique hotel with just 60 luxurious bedrooms and is located overlooking the 1st tee of the Harbour Town Golf Links, and just ½ mile from the marina and famous red and white hooped lighthouse.

Alternatively, guests can opt for one of the rental villas. These range in size from one to four bedrooms and are perfect for group outings. Each comes equipped with a full kitchen, living and dining areas and a variety of views from the golf course to the ocean.

When it comes to dining, there is plenty of choice at Sea Pines. Visit the Sea Pines Beach Club where you will find several options, from Coast, a stunning beach bar and restaurant to the Surfside Market for freshly made salads and sandwiches. For a great view of the Atlantic Ocean, head up to the second floor and have a drink or two in the Ocean Lounge.

The Harbour Town Golf Links Clubhouse is open to all, and their restaurant – Links, an American Grill is an excellent choice for breakfast, lunch or early afternoon appetizers. Fraser’s Tavern is the latest addition to the Sea Pines dining options, here you’ll find a casual atmosphere and a wide choice of food from freshly smoked barbeque to pizzas and salads.

Down at the Harbour Town Yacht Basin, there are plenty more places to eat and drink. The Quarterdeck, Harbour Town Bakery and Harbourside are all favorites with visitors to the area.

Golf courses at The Sea Pines Resort

Heron Point Course

The newest of the three courses on-site at Sea Pines Resort, Heron Point has been described as a modern-day piece of art. Formerly known as Sea Marsh, this Pete Dye designed course has been completely transformed. With similarities to other well-known Dye courses, this may be pleasing to the eyes, but it is certainly a challenge to golfers of all skill levels. If you are looking to test your game, this is a great addition to your trip.

Atlantic Dunes Golf Course

One of the three fantastic courses on-site at the Sea Pines Resort, Atlantic Dunes is a complete reconstruction of the historic Ocean Course, the first course built on Hilton Head Island. Redesigned by Davis Love III in 2016, the idea was to modernize the course but keep its historic values. With its majestic Lowcountry feel and oceanfront views, this is a great addition to any Hilton Head golf trip.

Harbour Town Golf Links

Harbour Town Golf Links is one of the most renowned courses in the country. As a truly classic Low Country layout, this course is the only annual PGA TOUR stop in South Carolina for the RBC Heritage. Players will wind their way through the lowlands and narrow fairways on their way to the iconic 18th hole. Here you will find the famous red and white hooped lighthouse as the background for a picturesque finishing hole.
