The Soffer Course overview
The Soffer Course at JW Marriott Turnberry Isle is the more challenging of the two on property. Initially designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in the early 1970s, the course was re-worked by Raymond Floyd in 2007 adding contours and mounding that created some elevation changes and a visually more appealing layout.
Players must be aware of the numerous creeks that cut across the fairways and the lagoons that eat into many of the landing areas for tee shots. Pristine white bunkers and new Tif Eagle greens make it a fantastic playing experience. At 7,000 yards from the tips, the Soffer is a tough test and has hosted several PGA and LPGA tournaments in its time, although forward teeing options make it enjoyable for all levels of golfer.
Signature Holes
The par-4 18th on the Soffer is remembered by all that play the course, a tough finish with the second shot played to a peninsula green.
