Golf Courses

Pebble Beach Company’s Del Monte Golf Course is on the property at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa. Famous for its small, well-protected greens and narrow tree-lined fairways it’s an excellent test and a ‘must-play’ while staying at the resort.

Like any great design, this course has a challenging finish; the 16th is a 421-yard par-4 and the toughest of the holes on the back-nine, 17 a reachable par-5 gives you a great chance at birdie, with the 18th (a shorter par-4) requiring precision on the approach as the green slopes heavily from right to left.

The Del Monte Course is full of history, dating back to its inception as a 9-hole layout in 1897 and five years later stretching to 18 holes. It is the oldest course in continuous operation west of the Mississippi, and the birthplace of the California State Amateur Championship.

Golf courses near to Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa

Pasatiempo Golf Course
at Pasatiempo Golf Club

Restored in 2007 under the close supervision of golf course architect Tom Doak, Pasatiempo is a formidable challenge that plays more like 7400 yards than 6500, due to its difficult greens, the undulations, and little-roll fairways.

Bayonet Course
at Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Club

Coming in at just over 7,100 yards, Bayonet may be easy on the eyes with lush fairways and views of the Monterey Bay, but it is known as being one of the more difficult courses in the area.

Black Horse Course
at Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Club

Playing at just over 7000 yards, the Black Horse is regarded as the more playable of the two courses here. However, it is certainly still a challenge with difficult undulating greens.

Poppy Hills Golf Course
at Poppy Hills Golf Club

As Robert Trent Jones Jr. describes it, “Playing Poppy Hills is as close as you can get to playing golf in a National Park.” Co-host to the PGA TOURs AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am from 1991 to 2009.

Del Monte Golf Course
at Del Monte Golf Club

Famous for its small, well-protected greens and narrow tree lined fairways Pebble Beach Company’s Del Monte™ Golf Course is key ingredient when visiting Pebble Beach on a golf vacation.
