Porthmadog Golf Club overview
Porthmadog Golf Club, situated in Morfa Bychan near the quaint harbor town of Porthmadog is a unique 18-hole course offering a great blend of heathland and links golf. Initially formed in 1905 as a 9-hole course, it was not until James Braid came along in 1910 that it was extended to 18-holes.
Aside from the very enjoyable golf course visiting golfers can enjoy full use of the modern clubhouse which houses a restaurant and bar beside the 10th hole. A pro shop is also available.
If playing at Porthmadog, you can stay at the Royal Sportsman Hotel, just a four-minute drive from the club.
Porthmadog Golf Course overview
The par-71 Porthmadog Golf Club offers a very different experience to the other coastal courses in North West Wales which makes this place worth a visit. Golfers will enjoy two contrasting nines with the front nine offering heathland style golf before transforming to traditional links conditions on the back nine.
Measuring just 6326-yards it is a playable course and offers golfers wonderful views across Cardigan Bay and the magnificent mountains of Snowdonia National Park. Playing at Porthmadog is worth it just for the back nine where the sand dunes come into play, creating some excellent holes, particularly the 10th & 12th.
