Pete Dye Mountain Course overview
A Pete Dye design known for its playability and stunning views, PGA WEST’s Pete Dye Mountain Course features pot bunkers, rock formations, daunting elevated of tee boxes, and undulating greens. The front nine starts near to the La Quinta Resort before running out along the foot of the mountains then heads back towards hotel complex, with the back nine working its way up through the mountains. The natural desert feel, playability, and exceptional visuals make it easy to see why the Pete Dye Mountain Course was named one of Golf Magazine’s Top 100 courses.
Signature Holes
The par-3 16th hole is the signature on this Pete Dye course. At just 167 yards from the back tees and playing downhill, it is not a long hole, however if you miss the pear-shaped green, you’re in the desert and will be heading to the drop-zone! The elevated tee box presents an incredible view of La Quinta and the natural landscape.
