Lahinch Golf Club

Shannon, Ireland

Lahinch Golf Club overview

Golf at Lahinch dates back to 1892, however it was Old Tom Morris in 1894 that laid out the original 18 holes and then Alister MacKenzie redesigned in 1926. More recently in 1999, it was Martin Hawtree’s modernization of the course that we enjoy today. Not a bad trio of world-renowned golf course architects, and it was Old Tom that said Lahinch was “the finest natural course he had ever seen”.

Easily accessible from Shannon which has plentiful direct flights from North America, Lahinch is located in the village of Lahinch on the south-west coast of Ireland. It is consistently ranked in the top 5 best courses in Ireland and has hosted many amateur and professional events including the European Tour’s Irish Open, which Jon Rahm won and enthused “I have played some of the best courses in the world and Lahinch is one of them”.

Facilities at Lahinch are top class with a 5-acre short-game area plus a new indoor performance center for a premium game improvement experience and custom club fitting.

Packages from $1,925

One of Ireland’s top ranked golf courses, Lahinch is a spectacularly rugged and natural links with tight fairways cut through towering sand dunes that hug the wild Atlantic coast in south west Ireland. There are not many courses that can boast the influences of Old Tom Morris, Alister MacKenzie and Martin Hawtree, an impressive trio of world-renowned golf course architects. They have crafted a unique experience with every single hole providing its own examination. The greats love to play here.

Castle Course

Situated on the opposite side of the road from the Old Course, the Castle Course, although a less formidable challenge, still presents its own brand of toughness with cleverly positioned bunkers and water hazards to trap the unsuspecting golfer.
