Located less than 200 yards from the 18th green of the Old Course, The Ardgowan Hotel provides easy access to all the courses in and around St Andrews. We recommend the New Course and Jubilee Course in town with the likes of Carnoustie Golf Links, Kingsbarns Golf Links and Crail Golfing Society all within a short drive.

The Ardgowan is a Scottish Tourist Board 3-star accommodation, centrally located within walking distance of the University of St Andrews, British Golf Museum and the world-famous Old Course.
The Ardgowan was designed in 1847 by the famous Scottish architect, George Rae. It offers 29 comfortable private bedrooms covering two adjoining Georgian townhouses.
There are also a further 7 rooms in their annex – The Pilmour Hotel which comes under the umbrella of The Ardgowan. All bedrooms offer tea/coffee facilities, digital television/radio, free Wi-Fi, telephone, and hairdryer. A same-day laundry service is also available.
Restaurant & Bars
Playfairs Restaurant is just off North Street on a South-facing terrace and enjoys an excellent reputation for top class, freshly prepared food. All menus display a Scottish twist and the dishes celebrate the best in local and seasonal produce.
Playfair's Bar in The Pilmour Hotel is an ideal place to relax and watch sport, with seven large screens, friendly staff and a good bar menu.
Location
The Ardgowan Hotel is located right in the heart of St Andrews on the East Coast of Scotland just yards from the 18th green of the Old Course. For international access we recommend either Edinburgh Airport which is 1hour 30mins drive away or Glasgow Airport (a further 30 mins drive).

A great Old Tom Morris design dating back over 100 years, this is links golf as it used to be played with many of the original hole routings still in play today. A short layout but nonetheless a true test.
Ladybank Golf Course

One of the UK’s finest heathland courses that is located 30 minutes inland from St Andrews on Scotland’s east coast. Set beautifully amidst heather, pines and silver birch trees, accuracy is key.
