Downfield Golf Club
St Andrews, Scotland
Downfield Golf Club overview
Located in Dundee, Downfield Golf Club is the birthplace of the Scottish Open, held in 1972. This parkland course is considered one of the most beautiful inland courses in Scotland and receives high praise from 1999 Open champion Paul Lawrie. The course was designed by architect James Braid in 1932; five original holes have been incorporated into the course played today.
With a rich history of hosting prestigious competitions and set in a scenic parkland setting, Downfield is a great addition to any Dundee golfing vacation. It provides a great contrast to the fast-running links courses that are found in this coastal city.
