The Kithmore is a charming family-run hotel with a great selection of recently refurbished rooms, a fantastic restaurant that has tables outside to relax in during the summertime. The hotel is ideally located for enjoying the excellent array of bars and restaurants available in St Andrews, all within walking distance.
Golf Courses
Located less than 200 yards from the 18th green of the Old Course, The Kithmore provides easy access to all the courses in and around St Andrews. We recommend the New Course and Jubilee Course in town with the likes of Carnoustie Golf Links, Kingsbarns Golf Links and Crail Golfing Society all within a short drive.

The Kithmore was designed in 1847 by the famous Scottish architect, George Rae. The hotel features 44 thoughtfully designed bedrooms, with touches of heritage but focused on relaxed luxury.
All bedrooms offer tea/coffee facilities, digital television/radio, FREE Wi-Fi, telephone, hair dryer. A same day laundry service is available.
Restaurant & Bars
The restaurant is just off North Street on a south-facing terrace and enjoys an excellent reputation for top class, freshly prepared food. All menus display a Scottish twist and the dishes celebrate the best in local and seasonal produce, starting with à la carte Scottish breakfasts and mid-morning coffees, through to light lunchtime bites, comforting classics, and fresh seasonal dishes on the all-day menu.
Playfair's Bar is housed in The Pilmour Hotel and offers a great bar menu. The bar is a nice spot to relax or watch sport, with seven large screens and friendly staff.
Location
The Kithmore is located right in the heart of St Andrews on the East Coast of Scotland just yards from the 18th green of the Old Course. For international access we recommend either Edinburgh Airport which is 1hour 30mins drive away or Glasgow Airport (a further 30 mins drive).

Situated on the east coast of Scotland and just 7 miles from St Andrews, Kingsbarns, is widely regarded as one of the UK’s best courses, certainly a must-play when visiting the area of Fife.
Old Course at St Andrews Links
The world’s oldest and most iconic course, host to numerous Open Championships and regarded as the spiritual home of golf. Playing the Old Course is on every golfer’s bucket list.
Gullane No. 1 at Gullane Golf Club
No.1 at Gullane is an Open Championship Final Qualifying Course and multiple host of the European Tour’s Scottish Open, with beautiful views across the Firth of Forth.
West Links at North Berwick Golf Club
Founded in 1832, the West Links at North Berwick is ranked top 5 in Scotland and top 50 in the world. Located very conveniently just east of Edinburgh along Scotland’s Golf Coast.
Championship Course at Carnoustie Golf Links
The Championship Course at Carnoustie is one of Scotland’s iconic courses and regular host of The Open since 1931. A tough test, this course is regarded as the most difficult Open Championship course.
Balcomie Links at Crail Golfing Society
A great Old Tom Morris design dating back over 100 years, this is links golf as it used to be played with many of the original hole routings still in play today. A short layout but nonetheless a true test.
Castle Course at St Andrews Links
A tough links course that opened in 2008, making the Castle Course the latest addition to the St Andrews Links portfolio of courses. Superb coastal views along this interesting clifftop layout.
New Course at St Andrews Links
Often overshadowed by the Old Course, the New Course is a very enjoyable links layout that will test all parts of your game. Opened in 1895 and therefore one of the oldest ‘new’ courses in the world.
