Strathtyrum Course overview
The Strathtyrum Course at St Andrews Links adds something different to the collection. Measuring just 5620-yards from the back tees and with a par of 69, it gives golfers some respite from the tough challenges found on some of the neighboring courses.
With just 15 bunkers on the course that are strategically placed, and large greens covered in slopes and borrows, there is a greater emphasis on good iron play and placing the ball in the right areas. Despite being designed to provide fun golf, its orientation on an east to west axis means the strong wind can often render the yardages meaningless with short par 4’s suddenly playing like par 5’s.
Did You Know?
The course takes its name from the neighboring Strathtyrum Estate which is whom St Andrews Links acquired the land from to build the golf course.
