TPC San Antonio overview
TPC San Antonio is located 20 miles to the north of San Antonio and is nestled right next door to the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. Although it’s a private club, guests of the resort can enjoy the first-class facilities and two PGA TOUR standard golf courses.
As part of the TPC Network (owned, operated and licensed by the PGA TOUR), you can expect the best, from the exceptional practice facilities, instruction at the TOUR Academy to the full-service golf shop. Pre- or post-round relax in the 42,000 square foot hacienda-style clubhouse and dine at 18 Oaks restaurant which overlooks the 18th green of The Oaks course.
Golf Courses
Home to two championship courses, TPC San Antonio has a lot to offer golfers of all standards.
The Canyons course designed by Pete Dye incorporates much of the Hill Country’s rolling terrain and elevation changes, while The Oaks course, designed by Greg Norman with player insights from Sergio Garcia, is carved through the native oak trees with tree-lined corridors leading to wide rolling fairways. Two contrasting courses, both of which have hosted previous PGA TOUR events. Currently, The Oaks course is the host venue for the Valero Texas Open.
Signature Holes
On both courses, the 16th holes are par 3s and both are worthy of the title ‘signature hole’. The 16th on The Oaks course is a replica of the famous 6th at Riviera Country Club, here you’ll find a bunker in the center of the huge putting surface which is tiered on either side of the sand-trap. On The Canyons course, the 16th is played across a wide gorge to an elevated green. A par on your scorecard at either hole is a great result.

The Canyons Course
The Canyons course by Pete Dye at TPC San Antonio is the perfect complement to its sister course The Oaks course, as the differing topography has created two unique layouts. The Canyons course is routed along a rolling ridgetop and features narrow bunkers that follow the direction of play. The elevation changes are more extreme and there are some spectacular views of Texas Hill Country. As part of the TPC Network, it is always in fine condition and you’ll enjoy excellent service during your time at the club.
The Oaks Course
The Oaks course at TPC San Antonio was designed by Greg Norman and Sergio Garcia – a very strong team that has created a great test of golf which is now the annual host to the PGA TOUR’s Valero Texas Open. The native oak trees are prominent throughout the course and the tree-lined corridors that challenge tee shots are balanced out with wide rolling fairways. As part of the TPC Network you can expect excellent playing conditions and first-class service.
