The Oaks Course

The Oaks course overview
The Oaks course at TPC San Antonio was designed by Greg Norman with Sergio Garcia acting as ‘player consultant’ – certainly a very strong team and they created a great test of golf that is the annual host to the PGA TOUR’s Valero Texas Open. The native oak trees are prominent throughout the course and the tree-lined corridors that challenge tee shots are balanced out with wide rolling fairways.
There’s 100 feet of elevation change from the high point to the low, and while not as dramatic as you’ll find on The Canyons course (sister to The Oaks course), it still has an impact on club selection and playability. Strategically designed, the uphill holes go with the prevailing wind, while downhill holes play into the breeze. As part of the TPC Network of courses (owned, operated and licensed by the PGA TOUR) you can expect excellent playing conditions and while a guest of the club you’ll enjoy the service and amenities normally reserved for the professionals.
Signature Holes
The par-3 16th is often considered the signature. A replica of the famous 6th hole at Riviera Country Club, you’ll find a bunker in the center of the huge putting surface which is tiered on either side of the sand-trap. A par on your scorecard is a great result.
