The Ugadale Hotel & Cottages

The 4-star Ugadale Hotel was once regarded as the pinnacle of luxury accommodation in the west of Scotland, and now having been restored to its former glory is the centrepiece of The Village at Machrihanish Dunes.

Just steps away are also the Ugadale Cottages which are perfect for golfing groups and families. There are multiple dining options and a luxurious Serenity Spa onsite, so although this may be a tough place to get to (3 hours drive from Glasgow), everything that you would want is here for a memorable stay.

Golf Courses

The two spectacular links golf courses of Machrihanish (Old) and Machrihanish Dunes are about as rugged as it gets when it comes to traditional links golf. The former is an Old Tom Morris design dating back to 1876 whereas the Dunes is a David McLay Kidd modern masterpiece that opened in 2009. Both are unpretentious and laid out using the natural contours of the land.

Restaurant & Bars

The Kintyre Restaurant & Bar offers an intimate private dining experience and uses only the freshest local ingredients. Right next to the hotel is the historic Old Clubhouse Pub, which served as the original clubhouse for Machrihanish Golf Club back in the days of Old Tom Morris.

There are other recommended dining and drinking options in The Village of Machrihanish Dunes such as the Harbourview Grille and Black Sheep Pub.
