Golf Courses
Home of four Open Championships, the legendary Ailsa Course has hosted some of the most iconic moments in golf’s history. Reborn in June 2016 at the hands of renowned architect, Martin Ebert, the transformation makes the Ailsa the number one ranked golf course in the UK & Ireland. Set alongside the glorious Ayrshire coastline, with Arran and Ailsa Craig as a stunning backdrop, it is one of the finest golfing destinations in the world.
In 2017, Trump Turnberry unveiled a new golfing experience on the Ayrshire coast, the magnificent King Robert the Bruce. The course is named after the King of Scotland, Robert the Bruce, the historical warrior who led Scotland to claim its right as an independent country. He was born in July 1274 in Turnberry Castle, which Turnberry Lighthouse now stands among the ruins of. Breath-taking vistas from the 8th 9th, 10th and 11th delight golfers, with spectacular views of Turnberry’s stunning coastline, castle ruins and the lighthouse.

Trump Turnberry’s main hotel is an outstanding Edwardian building in a beautiful coastal location. It offers comfortable and tastefully decorated guestrooms, which complement the high standard of golf for a truly memorable break. The majority of these luxurious rooms offer great views of the Irish Sea, the Isle of Arran and Ailsa Craig.
Guests have a choice between staying in the magnificent hotel, the luxury lodges that can sleep up to 16 guests or the lighthouse suite. With a great selection of accommodation, excellent facilities and two of the best golf courses in Scotland, it is understandable why Turnberry golf breaks are one of our most popular.
Restaurant & Bars
With picturesque views over the two links and Firth of Clyde beyond, 1906 is Turnberry's signature restaurant and aptly named after the year that the hotel first opened. Surrounded by some of Scotland’s most fertile land and close by the ocean, the Turnberry chefs take inspiration from locally sourced ingredients and sustainability.
Located within the clubhouse, The Duel in the Sun Restaurant has beautiful views over the links and beyond. Named after the renowned contest between Watson and Nicklaus at the 1977 Open Championship, this new restaurant opened as part of the recent multimillion-pound renovation.
For lunchtime bites and spectacular views, then grab a bite to eat or drink at the newly restored Lighthouse Halfway House. This is one of the most photographed objects in golf.
If you’re looking to enjoy sophisticated afternoon tea, then The Grand Tea Lounge is the place to do it. Tea sommeliers will talk you through the 20 different varieties on offer, including a special Turnberry blend infused with Hendrick’s Gin. At night the lounge comes alive as a place for pre and post-dinner drinks.

Ailsa Golf Course
Widely regarded as the best course in Scotland and most scenic on the Open Championship rota, the Ailsa at Trump Turnberry sits spectacularly along the Ayrshire coastline looking out over the Firth of Clyde, and with incredible views of the Mull of Kintyre and Isle of Arran in the distance. A complete facelift in 2015 has raised it status even further, so we look forward to more memorable Open Championships like the ‘Duel in the Sun’ in 1977 when Watson edged out Nicklaus in a thriller.
King Robert the Bruce Course
When you think of Turnberry it’s hard to not reminisce about past Open Championships and in particular the 1977 ‘Duel in the Sun’ between Watson and Nicklaus. Trump purchased the property in 2014 and has elevated its status to a new level with extensive renovations throughout, along with the opening of the new King Robert the Bruce course. A very worthy second course to the world-class Ailsa, kept to the same immaculate standard and with similar outstanding views across the Firth of Clyde.
