Cawder Golf Club overview
A club with a deep heritage formed around an early 18th-century clubhouse, Cawder Golf Club is the ultimate escape from the busy city without the need to venture too far away. Being only 10 minutes away from Glasgow city centre, the club is home to 2 different courses, the Cawder Course and Keir Course. The club offers a wide range of facilities including practice nets, practice fairways, chipping greens, putting greens and a pitch & putt.
Golf Courses
Both tracks are well known for being extremely well-groomed and offering fantastic views. The Cawder Course, also known as the Championship Course, was designed by James Braid the world-renowned course architect who has won the Open Championship 5 times. Playing at 6,297 yards with a par of 70 it is a challenging play for golfers of all skill levels.
A slightly more forgiving track is the Keir Course. Being the shorter of the two at 5,871 yards with a par of 68, this course is very open and allows for a relaxed round which may be more attractive to golfers with a higher handicap.
Post Round
The refurbished 18th-century clubhouse provides the perfect environment for post-round drink or meal.

Cawder Golf Club is rich with history becoming Scotland’s fifth world heritage site in 2008. It was recognised as part of the Trans-national Frontier of the Roman Empire due to the discovery of the Antonine Wall on the site of the course which was constructed in the mid-second century AD.

Cawder Course
This 6,296-yard course is also known as the Championship Course and was designed by the 5-time Open Championship winner James Braid. The parkland track is well known for the abundance of mature trees forming tight areas like the infamous 'Amen Corner', A real challenge for any golfer who is not a straight hitter. Keir Course
The Keir Course has no par fives and follows a flat and open style making this course more attractive to those who are seeking a laid-back round. Despite being slightly shorter and less of a challenge the course is manicured to the highest of standards providing consistent velvet-like putting surfaces making this course a prime destination for any Southwest Scotland golf tour.
